The Sacraments at Trinity
 

The Sacraments are a very important part of the life and worship at Trinity Church.  Below, you will find specific information on the celebration of the sacraments at Trinity.  Let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance.  Click here for summary descriptions of all seven sacraments and their place in the Church.


Baptism


The process for Baptism of a child at Trinity Church is as follows:

·         The parents (or guardians) of the child should contact the Church office at 225-387-0386

·         The parents must attend a baptismal seminar class (offered each month)

·         The parents then schedule the baptism ceremony with the church office


The process for Baptism of an adult at Trinity is as follows:

·         The adult desiring Baptism should contact one of the priests at the church office

·         The adult candidate will generally be required to attend selected classes to prepare

·         The candidate will schedule the Baptism with the church office

Holy Communion


All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion in the Episcopal Church.  It is at the discretion of parents as to when their children begin to receive communion.  For information on having communion brought to someone who is ill or incapacitated in any way, please click

Penance


The Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) is offered to individuals by appointment with one of the parish priests.  To schedule an appointment with one of the priests, please contact the parish office at 225-387-0396.

Unction (Anointing)


Anointing with Holy Oil is administered by a priest.  If you or someone that you know wishes to be anointed, please contact one of the parish priests at the church office by calling 225-387-0396.  Anointing is also offered at the conclusion of the Tuesday evening Eucharist services, held in church at 5:30 PM.  Click

Confirmation


Confirmation is administered by a Bishop in the Episcopal Church.  Trinity Church generally offers the Sacrament of Confirmation once or twice a year.  It is customary that candidates for confirmation attend scheduled preparation courses.  Please contact the church office for more information at 225-387-0396.
