The governance of Trinity Episcopal Church and the facilitation of its ministry and worship is a combined effort among a number of persons and groups.
The Rector of the Church is the spiritual and worship leader and serves as the chief executive of the parish. The parish clergy and staff support the Rector in these roles. Click here to see a listing of the parish clergy. Click here to see a listing of the parish staff.
The parish Vestry is an elected body of twelve parishioners that have primary charge of the temporal affairs of the parish, such as finances, buildings, assets and legal matters. It is also the job of a Vestry to select and call a new Rector to the church when needed. The Vestry works with the Rector in their role as managers of the temporal affairs and consults with the Rector in many other areas. Vestry meetings are chaired by the Rector. The Vestry usually meets once per month. Vestry members are elected each year with (usually) three members rotating off each year. Vestry members serve terms of three years. The officers on the Vestry are the Senior Warden (who is the senior lay leader of the Vestry), the Junior Warden and the Secretary. In addition, the Rector and Vestry appoint committees and committee chairs on the Vestry, as well as the parish Treasurer and Chancellor (legal advisor). Trinity Church's ministries are facilitated through a system of parish Councils. All ministries and parish affairs are assigned to a council. There are 10 parish councils, with each council having an appointed chairperson and members appointed by the Rector. Individual committees may also function under the supervision of a council.
